This is a very nice patched 802nd Tank Destroyer Battalion Ike Jacket fresh from the vet's family estate. You are buying this exactly how I bought it, nothing added nothing changed. Not everyday can you get a chance to get a jacket named to a Bastonge Vet.Has light storage dust and mothing throughout.

802nd Tank Destroyer Battalion
T-5 Leonard enlisted in Richmond, VA at 21 in October 1942, he would land with his Towed TD Battalion in Normandy on Utah Beach and moved inland to St Mere Eglise. They would enter combat near Carentan on 4 July 1944 supporting the 83rd Infantry Division Field Artillery. The Battalion pushed in the breakout passed St. Lo, into Brittany, then chased the German army in retreat across France.
The Battalion was in rest while attached to the 4th Infantry Division in Luxembourg for the winter of 44 when the Battle of the Bulge hit. The 802nd was rush into position on the southern flank of Bastonge and held the line through the Siege.
The 802nd then pushed over the Rhine into the Ruhr Pocket and ended the war in Occupation.
T-5 Leonard came home on November 29 1945, discharged on December 9, 1945.
